About S1 Vault

The problem this site solves:
Every soldier eventually faces the same wall: a blank NCOER support form due tomorrow. An award packet that has to be “perfect” but nobody will explain what perfect means. A promotion board that feels like a black box. An AGR packet with no clear roadmap. The official regulations exist — but they tell you the rules, not how to actually do the thing well.

S1 Vault exists to close that gap.

What this site is:
S1 Vault is a focused resource for U.S. Army career and personnel systems — NCOERs, awards, promotion boards, and AGR navigation. The goal is simple: take the systems that decide Army careers and explain them clearly, with real examples and practical structure, so soldiers can do them well instead of guessing.
No fluff. No motivational filler. Just the working knowledge that usually only gets passed down if you happen to have a great mentor.

Who’s behind it:
S1 Vault is written by an active-duty Army Human Resources professional (MOS 42A) who works in these systems daily — the same NCOERs, awards, and personnel actions covered here. The site is intentionally published without personal identification, in a private capacity, and is not connected to any official duty position, unit, or the U.S. Government in any way (see our Disclaimer).

The anonymity is deliberate. What matters here isn’t who is writing it — it’s whether the information helps you get your NCOER, award, packet, or board right.

How to use this site
Pick your situation — NCOERs, Awards, Promotions, or AGR — and start with the foundational guides in that section. Everything is built to be practical and example-driven.
